Church leaders from around the world gathered together on October 31 2016 to worship together commemorating 500 years of the Reformation and 50 years of dialogue between Lutherans and the Roman Catholic Church. Bishop Younan, Bishop of the Lutheran World Federation, and Pope Francis presided over the Prayer Service together. This was truly a historic event around the world.
October 31 2017 marks the 500th anniversary since Martin Luther posted his 95 Theses on the church doors of the castle Church in Wittenberg. It was Luther’s attempt to reform the Roman Catholic church but instead led to the beginning of the protestant Reformation.
